Is This Really a Sansevieria Plant?

I just got this plant as a present. The card says it’s a Sansevieria Plant, but it doesn’t look like any Snake Plant I’ve ever seen. Could you tell me what the plant really is?

Hi Robert,

Yes, your plant  is a  Sansevieria plant called a Sansevieria kirkii var. pulchra “Coppertone”

It can survive in low light levels but grows better and flowers more in  bright light and even full sun. This is an easy care plant that thrives on dry soil and little care. You can read all of my care tips for Sansevieria plants in the Popular Houseplant section of the website. The picture is of a different variety, but the care is the same.
