How to Grow and Care for a Pellionia Pulchra

Hello Judy
I’ve recently purchased a small unmarked plant. Can you help me figure out what kind of plant this is? I have NO idea!
Thanks so much! Jodie

Hi Jodie,

I think your plant is a Pellionia pulchra and is a relative of the aluminum plant. Here is a picture of one, what do you think?
Pellionia Pulchra

These plants like warm temperatures (70°- 80°) and high humidity if possible. bright indirect lightVery few houseplants should be placed in direct sun. High light refers only to bright indirect light since direct sun often burns the leaves of indoor houseplants. An area that is too hot and dry encourages Spider Mites and causes blooms to quickly fade. A northern exposure really doesn't provide enough light for high light plants. These plants need to be placed directly in front of an east-facing window, within 1-3 feet of a west-facing window, and within 5 ft. of a south facing window. A high light area has over 300 ft. candles of light. but no direct sun. Keep the soil barely moist at all times. Feed monthly with a balanced plant food when the plant is actively growing. Use a rich, fast draining potting mix like an African Violet soil.
