HousePlants with Heart-Shaped Leaves Identified: Peperomia incana

I’ve had this plant for about 10 years and I started it from just a single leaf that a friend gave me. It has velvety heartshaped leaves and stems. Recently it sprouted 2 stigma looking things. 1 of them fell off. Can you help identify it?

Hi,

Your plant is called a Peperomia incana. The 2 “stigma things” it sprouted are the flowers. The flowers of  Peperomia Plants are tiny and inconsequential, growing in clusters on upright conical spikes. There are over 1000 varieties of Peperomia Plants. All Peperomia Plants, which belong to the Pepper Family, are semi- succulents with very similar care requirements. Here is a picture of a Peperomia incana so you can compare it to your plant.
