How to Get Rid of Gnats on Plants

Hi Judy,

Please tell me what I can do to get rid of the flying gnats from the dirt of my plants? They are driving me crazy.

Hi,

Gnats on plants develop in moist potting soil, feeding on root hairs and emerging as adults every 30 days. The best way to get rid of fungus gnats, that tiny pest that flies around and drives us all crazy, is to allow the soil to thoroughly dry out. This eliminates the eggs and gnats in the pot. Use Yellow Sticky Insect cards to catch the gnats that are flying around. You can read more about Yellow Sticky Insect cards in the Glossary of the website.
