Dracaena Blooms for First Time in 35 Years

My wife purchased this plant at a local supermarket 35 years ago. It was about 5 inches tall in a small pot. 35 years later it is 4 1/2 feet tall and has just flowered for the first time. The flowers open in late afternoon/evening and are very fragrant. Can you tell us what this plant is?

Your plant is a Dracaena. If the leaves are solid green it is a Dracaeana Janet Craig; if the leaves have a yellow stripe in the leaf, it is a Dracaena Massengeanna (Corn Plant). The flower is fun to see, but often the plant stops producing new leaves for a while after it blooms. Also the flower may release some sticky secretions that attract insects, so keep the leaves clean.
