Jade Plant Dying

Is this a jade plant ? Can you tell me more about the plant and care.

Hi Bobby,

Yes this is a jade plant. Jade plants are succulent houseplants with numerous thick, leathery, green leaves growing in clumps on thick stems. Some jade plant varieties develop red edges on their leaves when exposed to bright sunlight. A jade plant is a very drought resistant succulent houseplant. All succulent plants store water in their thick stems, leaves, and roots. Allow a jade plant to completely dry out before watering. This plant needs very bright light. Feed with a fertilizer low in nitrogen every other month at 1/4 the recommended strength when the plant is actively growing. Jade plants are one of the easiest houseplants to propagate either by stem cuttings or by stray leaves that fall into the soil. You can read all of my care tips for this plant in the Popular Houseplant section of the website.
