Identification of Plant: ZZ Plant-Zamioculcas zamiifolia

Saw this plant in someone’special home. They didn’t know what it was but said it was easy to care for. They had smaller ones in kitchen window. Love them. What is it?

Hi Rebecca,

The plant is a ZZ Plant, Zamioculcas zamiifolia, here’s a brighter picture.

ZZ Plants, are beautiful, unique, almost impossible to kill succulent houseplants that burst onto the market a few years ago. They have become an immediate hit. ZZ houseplants have long stems covered in hundreds of round, plump, shiny green leaves (or leaflets as they are called). They are very drought resistant houseplants thanks to their rhizomatous roots that store water. ZZ Plants may be one of the hardiest and most forgiving houseplants I can recommend, just be careful not to over water.
