Help me identify and save this little plant!

Judy,
I inherited this office plant about a week ago from a co-worker who was retiring. She didn’t know what it was and neither do I. Searching your site, my best guess is a Swedish Ivy? It looks to be getting a big leggy and I would like to help it to thrive. Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated!

swedish-ivy-plantI agree with you that it is probably a Swedish Ivy. The first thing you need to do is give the plant a haircut. I’d cut off all of the stems that have bare sections or seem weak and droopy. This could cut the size of the plant almost in half, but it will grow back bushier, stronger, and fuller. Move the plant to brighter light and allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out before watering. There is a product called SuperThrive that I talk about in the Glossary that really does wonders for plants that are stressed. You may be able to find some locally or you can order it from Amazon off of my website. It works best on dry soil.
